140.6 Miles and 141 Donations
for Diabetes - RunningOnInsulin.com
On
November 3rd, 2007 Tom Kingery will compete in the Ford Florida Ironman in Panama City
Beach. The Ironman competition consists of a 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile bike
ride, and then finished up with a 26.2 mile marathon. The Ironman is widely considered the
ultimate test of physical, as well as mental endurance as the event can take up to 17
hours to complete. In conjunction with the Ironman, Tom will raise funds for the Central
Ohio Diabetes Association. His goal of acquiring a donating sponsor for each of the 140.6
miles will help the Central Ohio Diabetes Association in their efforts to provide
invaluable services and care to diabetics in need.
Tom was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in
February of 2004. Prior to being diagnosed, Tom competed in many marathons and triathlons
each year. However, since then, his marathon running and triathlon competitions have
become even more meaningful. These events are now also a means to raise funds for valuable
diabetes related causes. To give a small donation or to sponsor one of the 140.6 miles of
the Ironman, please visit http://www.RunningOnInsulin.com.
