- Ten years ago hence Mile 10), I went to Australia to watch the 1997 Australian Ironman.
Someone near and dear to me chose that race for his first Ironman. It was absolutely
incredible to watch that race and see the how each Ironman reacted to the words they heard as
they crossed the finish line! I know very well that it takes great dedication and hard work to
train for, compete in, and finish that race. I also know that you have what it takes, Tom. We
are so proud of you and wish you all the best with your training and on the big day! You
already ARE an Ironman, Tom (it just becomes an official title for you on November 3rd)! Love,
Jen & Dick Dages |

Janet and Jay Lehr -
Dear Tom,
I did sponsor a particular mile but chose to acknowledge all of those training miles that you
have put in to become the spectacular triathlete that you are. Every time I am running hard
and feeling like I want to walk I think of you and all you have been doing and will be doing
on November 3, 2007 and that keeps my wheels moving. I wanted to sponsor every mile of your
training but realized that could get pretty pricey since you put in so many miles and decided
to do a set amount. I am very proud of the journey you have been on even more than the
destination as great as it will be because the journey is only the beginning of many, many
great destinations.
love, Mom |

Kristen and John Juth - Tom, we are so proud to be supporting you during this incredible journey toward
becoming an Iron Man. You are an inspiration to us all. As Lance Armstrong once said,
"Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually
it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts
forever." All your hard work is going to pay off the minute you cross that finish line
and hear that you are an Iron Man. To us, you already are. Love, Kristen and John |
